NURS 6003 DQ Networking Opportunities

Hello everyone, my name is Chioma Onuoha. I am married with five kids. My focus in the MSN program is family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). I have been a registered nurse for more than ten years. And during those years, I have worked both in hospital, nursing homes and in people’s homes.  I have been at the bedside providing holistic care to individuals and their families. Having worked in different capacity for that long, I believe that it’s about time that I advance my nursing career.

In the current time period of DNA genome sequencing, and other perimeter of research efforts that focuses heavily on the mastery of the human anatomy at an infinitesimal level, it is my utmost belief that the future of health care lies within the beck and call of the health care providers that have clasped the dividends of exploration and transformation. It was based on this hypothesis, that I started searching for a graduate nursing school that will train me to be able to conduct an in-depth research to ascertain the overall patient outcomes when health care providers adjust and employ new research initiatives in the treatment of the patient. I reached a verdict that Walden MSN program will prepare me for this mission because her outcomes and perspectives relates to my professional and academic goal of becoming a scholar-practitioner. Walden university’s diversity, multiculturalism within their profession, communities and society as well as their global outreach and accessibility to busy adults, especially working professionals who are determined to advance their learning, positions her as my number one choice. An MSN degree from Walden University, School of Nursing will avail me a spot in the nursing of the future.

NURS 6003 DQ Networking Opportunities

Healthcare systems around the globe are becoming increasingly overwhelmed especially in the wake of this covid-19 era. As such, it has become imperative that healthcare professionals are highly needed in order to meet the demand for quality healthcare delivery systems in the 21st century. The covid-19 pandemic tested the quality of several healthcare emergency preparedness and disease surveillance systems around the world. In addition to the lack of a potent vaccine, this situation succeeded in putting a strain on the existing lean healthcare workforce, particularly in the U.S., thereby creating a global crisis for quality of life, quality of healthcare delivery systems and well-being of communities and the human population overall. Hence the need to develop robust health policies that ensure sufficient healthcare funding, quality of health data collection, analysis, decision-making and by extension, the sustained wellbeing of humanity in the 21st century and beyond. It is my prerogative to be part of the team that will provide solution to this problem. This is in line with Walden’s school of nursing’s vision to be recognized as a preeminent 21st-century school of nursing in which the contributions of nursing, health, and related sciences will transform the provision of nursing services along the continuum of care and across the human life span to meet the needs of individuals and local and global communities

On another note, I can confidently state that Walden University academic culture will tremendously advance my critical thinking, communication, leadership skills and professional values which remains an integral part of nursing practice. Nevertheless, considering that nursing care to the sick, needy and the vulnerable has always been my desire, it is my firm belief that Walden’s vision, mission, goals, and social change initiatives which relates hugely to my professional and academic goals will enable me to avail an evidence-based care and outcomes to both New Jersey and New York communities. It is my passion to become an active player in the future of nursing, a future that is hinged on evidence-based practice

Networking is a vital part of learning. It will help me achieve both professional and academic goals by enabling me to improve and develop nursing skill set, stay on top as far as the latest trends in the healthcare industry goes, keep a pulse on the healthcare job market, come to close quarters with prospective mentors, partners, clients, etc., grant me both the platform to synergize with colleagues and an access to important resources that will advance my nursing career.

All in all, I believe that by acquiring an MSN degree from Walden University, I will someday begin to live the life of excellence that I have always imagined, as a scholar-practitioner.

In this module, you begin laying the foundation for your academic and professional success. Your efforts begin with a vision that includes your own definition of success. Your vision may vary from those of your colleagues, but this does not mean you have to take these first steps alone.

Walden University and the College of Nursing also have a vision and mission, which include helping you to make your own vision a reality. Members of your new academic community, such as faculty, support teams, and fellow students, can also be helpful. Current practitioners and other member of the professional community can also help you to clarify your vision.

This Module’s Discussion asks you to consider how the Walden mission and vision as well as the College of Nursing’s mission and

vision apply to your professional and academic goals. You will also begin to identify individuals and teams who can help you along the way as you begin designing the “blueprint”—your Academic Success and Professional Development Plan—that will guide you toward your own vision for academic and professional success. Finally, you will explain the importance of networking and how it can help you achieve your professional and academic goals.

Note: Unless otherwise noted, initial postings to Discussions are due on or before Day 3, and response postings are due on or before Day 6. You are required to participate in the Discussion on at least three different days (a different day for main post and each response). It is important to adhere to the weekly time frame to allow others ample time to respond to your posting. In addition, you are expected to respond to questions directed toward your own initial posting in a timely manner.

To Prepare:

  • Review the Walden and College of Nursing mission and vision statements, Walden’s goals and University Outcomes, and the MSN Program Learning Outcomes presented in this Module’s Learning Resources.
  • Reflect on your professional and academic goals as they relate to your program/specialization.
  • Consider how the information in these resources fit with your own goals and to your becoming a scholar-practitioner.
  • Also consider academic and professional individuals and teams with whom you may collaborate in support of your efforts as a student at the university and as a professional within your organization and career.
  • Consider the importance of networking and how it may help you achieve your professional and academic goals.

By Day 3 of Week 1

Post a brief introduction of yourself to your colleagues. Include an explanation as to how Walden’s vision, mission, goals, and social change initiatives relate to your professional and academic goals and to your becoming a scholar-practitioner. Also include an explanation for how the Walden MSN Program Outcomes and perspectives relate to your professional and academic goals and to your becoming a scholar-practitioner. Finally, explain why networking is important and how it may help you achieve your professional and academic goals.

Your commitment to pursuing a leadership role was evident in your post, which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Nursing requires ongoing learning and increasing our expertise to the leadership level, equips us with the information and abilities required to offer our patients the high-quality care and support they deserve. With the help of technology and flexibility, Walden University has made it feasible. The school also aims to provide its graduates with knowledge that can be used to solve problems in the community (Walden University, 2021).
