Which weekly objectives do you have prior knowledge of and to what extent?

I have prior knowledge of the objectives in Topic 1 including characteristics of successful students and the link between academic integrity and professional accountability in nursing. Wai & Tran (2022) explains that student characteristics such as cognitive aptitude have impacts on learning outcomes. Academic integrity is critical for developing professional accountability in nursing practice. Miron et al. (2022) explain that the acculturation of learners to values of academic integrity reinforces their insights into the requisites of ethical behavior critical for safe nursing practice. Lynch et al., (2022) assert that academic integrity orients the anticipated learner conduct with professional codes and standards that guide the nursing practice. I also have prior knowledge of the objectives in Topic 2 including the definition of professional accountability in nursing practice and the role of standards of practice in enhancing professional development. Chesterton et al. (2021) explain that professional accountability entails the ideas and standards of nursing practice which means that nurses are held accountable for their actions. These are the course areas I have prior knowledge of.

Which weekly objectives do you have no prior knowledge of?

There are various weekly objectives that I have no prior knowledge of. For example, in topic 1, I have not examined how historical events and nursing leaders have impacted nursing practice. I also lack prior knowledge of the objectives in topic three concerning the importance of emotional intelligence for effective leadership and relationship dynamics. It is asserted that emotional intelligence can be important in leadership as it is vital for effective communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution (Coronado-Maldonado & Benítez-Márquez, 2023). These are some of the objectives I have no prior knowledge of.

What course-related topics would you like to discuss with your instructor and classmates?  What questions or concerns do you have about this course?

There is one main course-related topic I would like to discuss with my instructor and classmates. This includes issues for a legislative proposal. Nurses need to be actively involved in policy development on matters of health. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown gaps in this area. I would like to discuss the best ways nurses can be involved in the legislative process. The main question I would like to ask is how nurses can be involved in the policy-making process.
