(This message was added in version 6.7.0.) in /home/intelligentwr/nursingassignmentcrackers/wp-includes/functions.php on line 6114Mrs. Jones, a widow, is no longer able to live independently and is requiring more and more help with her self-care. Her daughter, Susie, who is married with three school-aged children, agrees to let her mother move in with her. Susie is concerned with balancing the demands of her career and the needs of her family, especially now that her elderly and chronically ill mother will need assistance. She is also unsure about how she feels with the reversal of roles, having to now be the primary caregiver of her mother. How can the nurse, caring for this family, assist with the changes they are about to undergo? How can both the family structural theory and the family developmental theory be applied to this scenario? How can health education enhance health promotion for this family?

Caregiving combines both art and science. This was a common refrain during my first few semesters of nursing school. Once I got out on the floor and started rushing from patient to patient, I forgot much of what I had studied. Despite many advancements in care, this phrase remains quite relevant in the present day. Taking care of someone is, in my opinion, an art form. There is a fine skill to anticipating a need, reading the room, and responding appropriately to a patient’s worry. The skill of reading and appreciating human nature. The practice of loving without expecting or expecting to be loved back. Like someone who goes to battle because it’s the proper thing to do, I’ve always thought of my job as a great honor. As nurses, we are at the front lines during the most difficult times for our patients, when they are most vulnerable, scared, and unsure of what to do. We are the beacon, and we must shine our light for our patients in order to implement evidence-based treatments and earn their respect and trust. My passion is inside our field.

There are many good points made in this article with effective solutions to a degree. Nursing is a challenging field because we are expected to excel in every aspect of the job, knowing skills, communication with patients and providers, getting drinks, snacks and calling family for updates. It can be very overwhelming to complete all of these tasks for 6-8 patients a day and find time to chart on the patients in an effective manner. I do understand there needs to be compassion and communication along with effective skills and knowledge, but it can be challenging to complete effectively. I really agree with liaison staff however many hospitals don’t want to spend money on more positions and having volunteers is a wonderful idea. They are there because they genuinely love the job. We have volunteers where I work, and they are truly such a blessing to have. They help in more ways than they understand with getting blankets and snacks, sitting with patients who just want someone to listen, communicating surgery updates and taking specimens to lab is just a few things that our volunteers do to help ensure we can perform the best patient care possible.

Health education is essential to health promotion for all populations. The nursing process can be used in developing educational programs which promote healthy lifestyle choices for prevention of disease, in addition to improved management of existing diseases, such as Hypertension and Diabetes.

The Nursing Process includes Assessment, Analysis, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation. The steps of this process can assist a nurse in developing an adequate educational program if a thorough nursing assessment is completed. The nurse can utilize this information to identify learning needs and knowledge deficits. Careful analysis of the data can assist the patient in planning the proper teaching strategy, according to the patient’s learning style and educational or developmental level. Delivery of the information in the format which is decided to be the most effective and most beneficial, is the implementation phase. It is important for the nurse to constantly be re-assessing for educational needs and also to be determining if the chosen educational strategy and content was effective. Evaluation of education can be completed after education has been received and processed. (Bergh, et al, 2015.)

An example of a contemporary issue that a family may experience today is a family that is experiencing homelessness. The family unit wishes to stay together, but there are not enough beds in one shelter to house all 5 of them. The single parent has been seeking employment. The children have been attending school online when they have a hotel voucher from Department of Social Services.

The following are the steps that the nurse can take in order to implement an educational plan:

(Toney-Butler & Thayer, 2022.)

The nurse’s role in health promotion is a very important one that encompasses many roles, including acting as a advocate, deliverer of services, care manager, educator and researcher. As the advocate the nurse is the first contact for a patient, which is why patient advocacy is a fundamental nursing role. Nurses must utilize the power of advocacy in order to identify and address patients’ specific needs. This is also consistent with Provision 3 of the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics, which specifically endorses the role of the nurse as a patient advocate (Falkner, 2018). A contemporary issue that a family may experience is domestic violence. According to Ellis (1999), “domestic violence, is a health threat that spans all socioeconomic classes, professions, cultures, religions, ages, and gender. Because there are no specific demographic indicators, identification of victims of domestic violence can be difficult. Men as well as women can be victims of domestic violence. However, research has shown that 95–98 percent of victims are women. 1,2 Domestic violence screening of all women in the emergency department, regardless of their presenting complaint, is one way to effectively identify victims of violence. Emergency department registered nurses (RNs), particularly triage nurses, are an obvious choice as screeners, yet there are data to indicate that screening is not being done”.

Ellis, J. This also applies to late DQ replies.

Please communicate with me if you anticipate having to submit an assignment late. I am happy to be flexible, with advance notice. We may be able to work out an extension based on extenuating circumstances.

If you do not communicate with me before submitting an assignment late, the GCU late policy will be in effect.

I do not accept assignments that are two or more weeks late unless we have worked out an extension.

As per policy, no assignments are accepted after the last day of class.
