This policy is especially important for NPs who work independently because they are not overseen by a physician who would otherwise catch a mistake. Positivity another of my strengths is that a patient’s attitude can have a significant impact on his or her overall health status. As a result, NPs must strive to maintain a positive attitude as well as emotional stability. It is critical to be attentive NPs should demonstrate it, especially when assessing a patient’s condition, and go out of their way to meet a patient’s needs. Hourly rounding requirements and “No Pass Zones” are two recent examples of facility-level attentiveness policies. According to the “No Pass” policy, any nurse passing by a room with a patient’s call. Opportunities for growth: Compassion in the workplace is not unique to nursing, but it is one of the characteristics of a successful nurse practitioner. When dealing with patients who are in physical or emotional pain, or both, NPs must first and foremost show compassion and empathy. Patients are more likely to be truthful if they believe their NPs genuinely care about their health. When their patients are more forthcoming, NPs can provide the best care. One of the most important characteristics of an excellent nurse practitioner is prioritized. Prioritization should come naturally to NPs. Some medical issues are more urgent than others, and NPs must be able to distinguish which are primary and which are secondary concerns. Strong analytical thinking skills are required for gathering relevant facts, analyzing complex issues, and making sound decisions. To improve the responsiveness of the patient, how well an NP’s patients fare is an important indicator of his or her effectiveness. Patients who maintain their health reflect favorably on the practitioner. NPs should also be aware of how the patients’ families are dealing with the situation. A patient’s quickest path to recovery often depends on both the patient and family maintaining a positive attitude, which an Now, write 3-4 possible goals and objectives for this practicum experience.
