1 = The notion that policy agendas are derived from problems is a logical one. You wouldn’t work to develop policy around an area that wasn’t a problem, after all. Think about some of the healthcare policies we have today. The policies surrounding the use of tobacco is one example that was based on a problem. Can you think of others? Are there any you can name that has not yet been resolved? Are there any that you would feel strongly enough about to work to make a change? How would you personally go about making an impact on a particular policy agenda?
2 = We have seen a huge rise in the use of social media along with some potential problems in the healthcare space, especially during a pandemic. However, recent articles have been written that tout social media as a way to aid in advancing the quality of healthcare. One idea is using Facebook as an information-sharing environment or support group for patients and physicians in treating chronic diseases such as diabetes.
