Question 1

The topic chosen for this study is the relationship between breakfast intake and memory retention in students. This topic was chosen because many parents and students sometimes tend to ignore taking breakfast before going to school due to economic status or failure to recognize the benefits breakfast entails for the academic performance, learning, and energy. Ideally, many scholars agree that intake of breakfast improves performance, behavior, and recognition in students. Breakfast intake increases the creativity in classroom and optimizes the level of performance. On the other hand, failure to take breakfast results in various adverse effects in school children such as distraction from learning and possibility of easy withdrawal from learning when obstacles occur. Besides, students who fail to take breakfast experience reduced memory recall, increased errors, low scores, emotional instability, behavioral problems, poor academic performance, and challenges in paying attention. Consequently, this research seeks to encourage breakfast intake among the students to ensure their academic, emotional, behavioral, and physical wellbeing.

The obstacles experienced in this study included the possibility that the results obtained may not be generalized to the larger population, making the study base to be biased and the results may, therefore, be misleading or spurious. However, to overcome this

challenge, the study will incorporate a larger sample group. The respondents will include pertinent group from the larger population in the appropriate proportions. For instance, the sample group could be derived from different gender, race, or age group. Besides, the other challenge experienced is that experiments often change the responses and behaviors of the participants. To overcome this challenge, there is need to use deception. The utilization of deception tends to lower the chances that participants can guess the hypothesis, making the participants to behavior more naturally. Besides, the researcher should minimize interpersonal contact with the participants and also ensuring utilization of many experimenters.

Question 3

Failure to take breakfast is associated with distraction in learning among children. Studies indicate that children who fail to consume breakfast have low memory recall and increased errors. It has also been established that failure to consume breakfast is linked to learning problems such as low math scores, emotional, academic, behavioral, and attention problems. Worse yet, students who consistently fail to consume breakfast tend to repeat a grade (Corcoran, Elbel& Schwartz, 2016). On the other hand, it has been shown that consumption of breakfast is associated with improved performance of students in many aspects such as improved school performance, behavior, health, and cognition (Anzman-Frasca et al., 2015). The children also have better concentration, alertness, comprehension, memory, and learning. Based on this problem statement, the possible research questions may include;

  1. Does consumption of breakfast help in improving the performance of the students in school?
  2. Does breakfast consumption help in memory retention among the students?

The hypothesis will be tested by statistical hypothesis testing. This method is ideal because it will help in comparing the two statistical data sets comprising the null and alternative hypotheses against a synthetic set of data from an idealized model. The comparison will be regarded statistically relevant if the association between the sets of data   would be doubtful in achieving the null hypothesis based on the set standards, which connotes the significance level. That is, the hypothesis testing will be used here to determine the kind of outcome study that lead to denial of null hypothesis for a pre-determined significance level.

For this assignment that I will post in the files is in regards to an essay I submitted for one of your writers to complete for me. I will also post that essay for you can reference back to to further answer the questions (it will be under PSY452 FINAL). Please disregard part two, I will complete that one. Thank you
