Sample Answer for NURS 6003 DQ Networking Opportunities Included After Question
In this module, you begin laying the foundation for your academic and professional success. Your efforts begin with a vision that includes your own definition of success. Your vision may vary from those of your colleagues, but this does not mean you have to take these first steps alone.
Walden University and the College of Nursing also have a vision and mission, which include helping you to make your own vision a reality. Members of your new academic community, such as faculty, support teams, and fellow students, can also be helpful. Current practitioners and other member of the professional community can also help you to clarify your vision.
This Module’s Discussion asks you to consider how the Walden mission and vision as well as the College of Nursing’s mission and vision apply to your professional and academic goals. You will also begin to identify individuals and teams who can help you along the way as you begin designing the “blueprint”—your Academic Success and Professional Development Plan—that will guide you toward your own vision for academic and professional success. Finally, you will explain the importance of networking and how it can help you achieve your professional and academic goals.
Note: Unless otherwise noted, initial postings to Discussions are due on or before Day 3, and response postings are due on or before Day 6. You are required to participate in the Discussion on at least three different days (a different day for main post and each response). It is important to adhere to the weekly time frame to allow others ample time to respond to your posting. In addition, you are expected to respond to questions directed toward your own initial posting in a timely manner.

Hello everyone, my name is Chioma Onuoha. I am married with five kids. My focus in the MSN program is family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). I have been a registered nurse for more than ten years. And during those years, I have worked both in hospital, nursing homes and in people’s homes. I have been at the bedside providing holistic care to individuals and their families. Having worked in different capacity for that long, I believe that it’s about time that I advance my nursing career.
In the current time period of DNA genome sequencing, and other perimeter of research efforts that focuses heavily on the mastery of the human anatomy at an infinitesimal level, it is my utmost belief that the future of health care lies within the beck and call of the health care providers that have clasped the dividends of exploration and transformation. It was based on this hypothesis, that I started searching for a graduate nursing school that will train me to be able to conduct an in-depth research to ascertain the overall patient outcomes when health care providers adjust and employ new research initiatives in the treatment of the patient. I reached a verdict that Walden MSN program will prepare me for this mission because her outcomes and perspectives relates to my professional and academic goal of becoming a scholar-practitioner. Walden university’s diversity, multiculturalism within their profession, communities and society as well as their global outreach and accessibility to busy adults, especially working professionals who are determined to advance their learning, positions her as my number one choice. An MSN degree from Walden University, School of Nursing will avail me a spot in the nursing of the future.
Healthcare systems around the globe are becoming increasingly overwhelmed especially in the wake of this covid-19 era. As such, it has become imperative that healthcare professionals are highly needed in order to meet the demand for quality healthcare delivery systems in the 21st century. The covid-19 pandemic tested the quality of several healthcare emergency preparedness and disease surveillance systems around the world. In addition to the lack of a potent vaccine, this situation succeeded in putting a strain on the existing lean healthcare workforce, particularly in the U.S., thereby creating a global crisis for quality of life, quality of healthcare delivery systems and well-being of communities and the human population overall. Hence the need to develop robust health policies that ensure sufficient healthcare funding, quality of health data collection, analysis, decision-making and by extension, the sustained wellbeing of humanity in the 21st century and beyond. It is my prerogative to be part of the team that will provide solution to this problem. This is in line with Walden’s school of nursing’s vision to be recognized as a preeminent 21st-century school of nursing in which the contributions of nursing, health, and related sciences will transform the provision of nursing services along the continuum of care and across the human life span to meet the needs of individuals and local and global communities
On another note, I can confidently state that Walden University academic culture will tremendously advance my critical thinking, communication, leadership skills and professional values which remains an integral part of nursing practice. Nevertheless, considering that nursing care to the sick, needy and the vulnerable has always been my desire, it is my firm belief that Walden’s vision, mission, goals, and social change initiatives which relates hugely to my professional and academic goals will enable me to avail an evidence-based care and outcomes to both New Jersey and New York communities. It is my passion to become an active player in the future of nursing, a future that is hinged on evidence-based practice
Networking is a vital part of learning. It will help me achieve both professional and academic goals by enabling me to improve and develop nursing skill set, stay on top as far as the latest trends in the healthcare industry goes, keep a pulse on the healthcare job market, come to close quarters with prospective mentors, partners, clients, etc., grant me both the platform to synergize with colleagues and an access to important resources that will advance my nursing career.
All in all, I believe that by acquiring an MSN degree from Walden University, I will someday begin to live the life of excellence that I have always imagined, as a scholar-practitioner.

My name is A. I have been nursing for 14 years. I have a background nursing in med-surgical and currently emergency nursing. My vision is to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. I believe nursing is more than a job, it’s truly a calling. Despite life’s unexpected challenges, I have remained focused on my life long goals. I have climbed the ladder in my medical career. I began as a Certified Medical Coder, Ward Clerk, LPN, RN, RN to BSN and now enrolled in the Master’s Program. It’s a great honor to look back an see how far I have come. I have suffered with a great deal of lost in my life, but I never lost hope on my vision in becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner. It reminds me of Walden’s Vision. As stated in Walden vision statement nursing, health, and related sciences will transform the provision of nursing services along the continuum of care and across the human life span to meet the needs of individuals and local and global communities (2021a).
I want to make a difference not only at my workplace, but my community. I was pleased to know that my mission mimics the mission at Walden University. Walden’s mission is to provide the opportunity to transform a diverse community of career professionals to be scholarly-practitioners so they can effect positive social change (Vision, Mission, and Goals. 2021). I am looking forward to succeeding and leading by example for others as well as my community. I am also looking forward to social networking with my colleagues to enhance my learning experience at Walden. I have just began classes and I am already amazed at all the help and support that has been readily available from Walden University. This will truly be a great experience. Best wishes to all…
Your commitment to pursuing a leadership role was evident in your post, which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Nursing requires ongoing learning and increasing our expertise to the leadership level, equips us with the information and abilities required to offer our patients the high-quality care and support they deserve. With the help of technology and flexibility, Walden University has made it feasible. The school also aims to provide its graduates with knowledge that can be used to solve problems in the community (Walden University, 2021).

Title: NURS 6003 DQ Networking Opportunities
I am very excited to embark on this journey with you all! I work in the field of acute critical care in a small community hospital in the Philadelphia suburbs. I’ve been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for five years and have always wanted to further my education. As a result, my acceptance into this program is both exciting and terrifying. The majority of this course appears to be devoted to networking and identifying people who can help you in times of stress. My two older brothers and one younger brother are both nurses in Acute or Long Term Intensive Care. Both of my parents are registered nurses. My mother has worked as an ER nurse for thirty years, and my father has also worked as a nurse for thirty years. My father has always been an advocate for continuing education (he holds many degrees himself, from Bachelors in nursing to MBA). I had a positive impression of what I was signing up for after reviewing Walden’s vision, missions, goals, and societal change because of his emphasis on “never slowing down” and “always utilizing education to help you improve.” In contrast to Walden’s Mission While reading Walden’s “Visions,” it became clear that their goal is to promote the greater good. Hopefully, learning knowledge to help me grow in a professional setting will reflect the impact we all hope to make, which is to promote the greatest good to those we care for on a daily basis.
The “missions” section simply emphasized the importance of having an outlet that promotes growth in an individual, in this case through an educational program. Walden’s mission of assisting in the transition into a knowledgeable and confident nurse who serves the greater good aligns perfectly with the roles my father attempted to instill in me at a young age, as previously discussed. Walden provides a number of program objectives, but one in particular stood out to me. The ultimate goal, according to their website, is “to produce graduates who are scholarly, reflective practitioners and agents for positive change” (Walden University, n.d.). This stood out because I really enjoy the second half. Change is a term that is thrown around too often without emphasizing its significance, and hearing my father’s influence float around throughout my life has made me realize how powerful change can be. From Walden’s perspective, social change appears to be entirely driven by growth and development, with the implication of application to a society for the greater good. The social change aspect really appeals to me because it emphasizes not only the importance of this knowledge, but also the importance of applying the skills we will learn along the way. Through Walden, I hope to hone my application skills in order to better serve those with whom we interact on a daily basis. Walden provides University Outcomes that appear to flawlessly wrap up everything mentioned previously.
The second outcome is the most pertinent to my objectives and desires as a result of this program, as it covers everything I’ve mentioned. According to the mission statement, the objective is to use the acquired knowledge to benefit the community, society, and profession. Following in the footsteps of my father, I hope that this program will assist me in fostering the growth of individuals with whom I interact, whether by providing for an individual or the entire community in which I serve. Possible Networking Opportunities NURS 6003 Final Considerations and Conclusion I really anticipate participating in Walden’s community service, which is absolutely remarkable. The world is a constantly evolving place, and the healthcare industry is no exception. According to the author of “Missions and Organizational Performance in the Healthcare Industry,” “the diverse characteristics of the healthcare market make it essential for employees at all levels to not only have a clear understanding of what they are trying to accomplish, but also a sense of support and involvement in determining the mission” (Forehand, A., 2000). This is something I truly believe in, and Walden’s comprehension of my goals is crucial. Another item I read stated, “Successful organizations will be those that are unwavering in their pursuit of their vision, unrelenting in their commitment to their goal, and unwavering in their commitment to their values” (MacLeod L.,2016). Every argument made by Walden is consistent, and I’ve found myself aligning with their vision. I believe in the success that this organization will bring and look forward to achieving the personal goals that my father defined for me when I was younger and growing with the principles that this institution offers! You have extensive nursing experience and that is very valuable! You will have so much to bring forth in the MSN program. New house construction begins with a firm foundation so too does your professional growth and development (The Foundation of Success, 2018). You have a strong base to build from on your journey while in the MSN program.
You mention never forgetting patients are human beings. I know at times we are rushed, stressed, and overwhelmed, but that statement is so important, and we need to be reminded of that more often, so thank you. What you said is aligned with Walden’s Vision, transform the provision of nursing services along the continuum of care and across the human life span to meet the needs of individuals and local-global communities (Walden University, n.d.).
