Title: NRS 430 Topic 4 Discussion Question one Outline the process for the development of nursing standards of practice for your state
Ethical principles are crucial in guiding ethical practice in particular situations. Nurses need to specify and explain their professional ethical obligations to patients and assure them to be ethically competent and trustworthy. The ethical principle I have selected is accountability. Accountability characterizes the idea that a person is responsible for their actions (Chesterton et al., 2021). If a person opts for unfavorable actions, the person must be prepared to face the consequences. Accountability is majorly about protecting quality patient care outcomes, maintaining competency, and safeguarding standards of practice while taking responsibility for those affected by nurses’ clinical practice. Every nurse must be responsible for his or her actions and choices in clinical practice (Rubio-Navarro et al., 2019). Accountability seeks a high work level, encourages dependability, fosters honesty, and gains trust from clients. Accountable nurses often provide quality patient care. Accountability can be demonstrated in patient situations by administering drugs as prescribed and documenting all supplies utilized in patient care.
