Study Plan

Study plans are key since they act as guidelines on what to do to ensure set study goals and objectives have been achieved. The implication is that there is a need to develop a study plan which can easily be followed to help an individual fulfill obligations and roles so as to achieve the set goals (Stromberg, 2021). During the start of NRNP 6665, a study plan was created that reflected on the points of weakness, strengths, and smart goals and the resources which can be used to achieve the set goals. It is worth noting that the smart goals were achieved to a greater extent, and therefore, it is important to build on the achievement and enhance competence. Therefore, the purpose of this assignment is to revise the study plan and summarize the current strengths and what should be improved. In addition, this assignment will focus on developing new SMART goals and listing the resources which can be used to achieve the goals.

Areas of Strength and Opportunities to Improve

An overview of the previously formulated study plan has revealed various areas of strength and opportunities for improvement. My strength still lies in the physical assessment across lifespan and pharmacology. The other areas of strength include documenting physical history and assessment. My recent studies have also enhanced my strength in using DSM-5 and areas like neurophysiology, neuroanatomy, and epigenetics. However, there are areas that still need improvement. An area of opportunity to improve is the formulation of treatment for the younger population and children. While I have improved in using various tools and choosing some of the tools, I still need to improve in the use of tools such as the Beck Depression Inventory.

The SMART Goals

SMART goal 1: To study the course material and enhance my skills and knowledge on treatment for the younger population and children.

Task: acquisition of relevant course materials and drafting an appropriate timetable to accomplish goals

SMART goal 2: To consult with the senior professionals for the improvement of using various assessment tools.

Task: performing a literature review on the use of assessment tools.

SMART goal 3: To study and watch necessary videos weekly regarding genomics to improve my knowledge of the same.

Task: selecting relevant videos and holding discussions regarding genomics.

It is important to formulate a plan or a timetable to achieve the goals. Therefore, the first goal will be achieved in the first two months. The second goal, as part of the plan, will be accomplished in months three and four.  The last goal will be achieved in the last two months.

The Resources For Accomplishing the Tasks and Goals

Accomplishing the set goals and tasks can be challenging in case there are limited resources. It is important to identify the

needed resources and find ways of acquiring the same. One of the resources or strategies includes participating in study groups formed together with other peers (Coppa & Winchester, 2020). Such study groups can be a source of strength as individuals share knowledge acquired and more strategies to study better. Mnemonics will still form a significant part of the resources that will be used to accomplish the goals and tasks. Through mnemonics, I will be in a position to master the content better and boost remembering. I also plan to use relevant online materials, such as reviewing online exams and free online courses, which can be used to enhance knowledge and achieve goals.

Conclusion

This write-up has focused on a revised study plan.  A review of the previous study plan revealed that most of the goals were accomplished. The current study plan has three more SMART goals that will need to be accomplished.
