Managing change in any organization is the most challenging thing because employees do not like change. Various issues often force employees to act negatively towards any form of change in an organization. For instance, people always prefer what they are familiar with or something they have been used to doing daily (Haas et al., 2020). The state of unfamiliarity brought by the change in an organization is uncomfortable. This activity implies that new software, new coworkers, and new workflow make employees unwilling to change. Besides, the scary nature of change also contributes to the fear of employees adopting change. Therefore, adopting short-term wins in change management is essential in carrying out a successful organizational change.

Short-term wins in a change process are essential in allowing the success of the change. One of the most critical short-term wins is showing progress and movement during the transition. A change can take as long as one year as long as the company goes through the change without affecting the company’s everyday operations. An abrupt change often requires employees to adopt the new system within the shortest time as the company’s management would start to feel the impact of the change on the operation and income of the company.
