ADVANCED HUMAN GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH PROJECT DEVELOPING NARRATIVES FOR EARLY ADULTHOOD THEMES Presentations: Group #1 Nov. 5, 2019 Group #2 Nov. 12, 2019 & Group #3 Nov. 19, 2019 Overview: The majority of students at the graduate school level fall under the age range of Early Adulthood. According to various learning resources for this course, in early adulthood, the major tasks involve leaving the family, getting into the adult world, settling down, and becoming one’s own man or woman. There are a number of social and emotional experiences that this age group is likely to encounter when dealing with the major tasks involved in this age group. One’s individual perspective of these likely experiences is important to successfully navigating this challenging developmental stage. Purpose: The purpose of this project is for Human Growth & Development students to engage in the all-important function of personal introspection with respect to some of the salient themes in the developmental stage of early adulthood. In doing so, student will develop a Microsoft Power Point Presentation that illuminates their personal perspectives as it relates to some of the selected emotional and social developmental themes of this age group. NOTE: This assignment is worth 75 POINTS towards your final grade. Assignment: Students will complete this assignment as follows: 1. Prepare a Power Point Presentation of clipart that is a representation of your personal perception for each of the topics mentioned below. After the title page (slide #1 example below), there will be one clipart slides for each of the following themes: Slide #2. “Romantic Love” [Part 2, Section B.] Slide #3 “Leaving Home” [Part 3, Section A.] Slide #5 Cohabitation; (living together and having a sexual relationship without being married.) [Part 3,Section D] Slide #6 “Getting Married” [Part 3, Section F.] Slide #7 Divorce [Part 4, Section F.]. 3. For each clipart selected students will provide a brief paragraph positioned underneath the clipart which explains why they selected that particular clipart and how it personally relates to them. (See format/example below). 4. The source of the clipart must be presented at the bottom of each slide. 5. In-class presentations of projects will begin 11-5-19 and conclude 11-19-19 (see group list for details. Students will present their project from a THUMB DRIVE. 6. After students have completed their presentation their project must be uploaded on the blackboard under (Research Project Drop Box) not later than one (1) day after they present. 7. Students are not required to use color lettering as per the format sample below. ADVANCED HUMAN GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH PROJECT Slide 1 Slide 2 STRESS I chose this clipart because it represents how I think when I’m feeling stressed out. For example in this clip art it appears that the individual is thinking about various the parts of his body that he knows is affected by stress. I tend to focus on my body when I get stressed out, therefore, this is a good way to help cope with stressful situations. Slide 5 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH I chose this clip art for Environmental Health because it represents many of the aspects of health that I am particularly fond of. For example, I tend to be the type of person who wants to preserve nature. . . .
