HCI 655 Describe the differences between cloud-based and client-server architectures
Cloud architecture describes how technology components work together to create a cloud in which resources are pooled and shared over several networks using virtualization technologies. A network that connects servers, cloud clients, and storage is one of the components of the cloud architecture. The cloud-based architecture could also contain a cloud-based delivery technique, as well as a front-end platform and one or more back-end platforms (storage and servers). A computer network’s Client-Server Architecture describes a system in which several clients (Remote processors) receive and request services from centralized servers or host machines (Alexandru et al., 2018). Client computers are frequently used to provide an interface that allows computer users to request server services and view the results that the servers return. In most circumstances, servers wait for requests from clients to come before responding to each one.

One of the most significant advantages of cloud computing is its high level of accessibility. The cloud-based software can be accessed via a variety of browsers and mobile devices. In addition, the technology allows for faster access to information. The cloud-based technology is also extremely scalable and adaptable (Serik et al., 2019). Limited features, as well as technological aspects, hinder development procedures, which is one of the disadvantages of cloud-based architecture. One of the benefits of the Client-Server Architecture is that information provided by users is more secure (Ismail et al., 2020). There is also room for scalability. The drawbacks include traffic congestion and hefty costs. When compared to a cloud-based architecture, setting up and maintaining a Client-Server Architecture is more expensive. Given the importance of data security, cost should not be a primary consideration when deciding which architecture to adopt or use.
