We will be spending most of our time learning about low- and middle-income countries in our course work, but what can we learn from other countries and their health models as we begin our work together?
In 2008, on the eve of the groundbreaking legislation to address both quality and equity issues in the U.S. health system, PBS produced a Frontline episode titled Sick Around the World.“In Sick Around the World, Frontline teamed up with veteran Washington Post correspondent T. R. Reid to find out how five other capitalist democracies – the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, Taiwan and Switzerland deliver health care, and what the United States might learn from their successes and failures.”
