Topic 6 DQ 2

In the change processes, there is always the need for leaders to adhere to the standards of practices in order to ensure effective outcomes. These processes requires the implementation of important changes. In my place of work, there is always a challenge in the management of patient’s data, a scenario that often leads to the increased confusion and medication errors. The change process should therefore involves the incorporation of effective documentation system to reduce clerical errors, enhance the storage of patient information and enhance the delivery of quality care (Kurniawandari & Listiyanawati, 2019). However, in some cases, there are ethical issues that may be experienced by the change leaders. There are always different ethical dilemmas associated with the change leaders. While undertaking organizational changes, I have witnessed change leaders take credit for other people’s contributions or work. The contribution of everyone in the change processes is always significant and the credit should be given to everyone. However, in some cases, only leaders take the credit for everyone’s contribution. Even through leaders coordinate different change processes, they may be entitled to different privileges, however, this does not mean that they are supposed to take credit of the contribution made by everyone. The ethical dilemma was solved through the enhancement of group work. In the change process, the credit was given as a group. In other words, all members of the group received credit for the success of the project.

Change leaders can utilize the standards or guidelines for the change processes when faced with the ethical dilemma. The above approach would ensure that every step is performed or undertaken in line with the required standards.
