One of the healthcare policies that is related to CHIP is Medicaid. Medicaid connotes a federal program established to assist in provision of medical services for the economically vulnerable citizens. Therefore, the similarity between the Medicaid and CHIP is that they both ensure that children from modest families access healthcare (DeVoe et al., 2015). However, the scope of CHIP is restricted to uninsured children from modest families and rarely expectant woman compared to Medicaid which enjoys broad coverage including children, pregnant woman, adults, and elderly.

Advocacy Strategies

There are several advocacy strategies that nurses can use to support the continuity of the CHIP. For instance, nurses may resort to different forms of media to rally their voices for the prompt and continuous funding of the program.
