BEHS 343 Applied Final Project Part 1 Create Your Parenting Case Study Topic
As children transit into adolescents, they undergo multiple physiological and psychological changes. Even though these transformations allow them to acquire new social roles as adolescents, the children may also stumble into a world of euphoria that may affect their mental wellbeing. As such, the present topic will focus on behavioral issue in teenagers with a special focus on depression. A planning table as illustrated below shall be used to analyze the topic of discussion.

Step 8: Parenting Case study
The present case study involves an 18-year old female adolescent who has been experiencing major mood disorder over the past four weeks. She hails from a middle class family background. She lives with her father and a grandmother following the devastating divorce between her father and the mother. The latter is not actively involved in the life of the teenager since she is married into a different family. Her father has no formal education and therefore works in a stressful job. Her sister who is pursuing a degree resides in the college hostels and therefore is not within the reach of the teenage.
A parenting care plan to address the depression will be developed to solve the teenager’s mood issues. I will also discuss home care plans that can resolve the depression and mood disorder. Nonetheless, behavioral therapy will be developed to offer remedy to suicidal ideation expressed by the teenager.

Using the planning table provided below, you will create a case study on a parenting topic of interest to you. Throughout the course you will conduct research on this topic, culminating in a Parenting Action Plan that proposes solutions to resolve your case.
