Assignment: Exploring Research Results
Assignment Exploring Research Results
In the present project, the author wanted to examine the issue of the intransigence of some parents against the utilization of vaccination in their children. Vaccinations against critical life-threatening conditions remain one of humanity’s greatest achievements. In this regard thus, evidence-based practices should be used to change the mindset of parents that are not in support of the same. A study by Glanz et al., (2017) supported my research project in the sense that it offered an evidence-based solution in the manner of using web-based social media intervention to offer information on vaccination to combat vaccine hesitancy. The study entailed a randomized control trial with 888 participants in Colorado. During the study, a comparison was made between Usual Care and interactive social media components (VSM). The results courtesy of non-parametric rank-based analysis revealed that undervacinnation was lower in the VSM intervention in comparison to the Usual Care. Therefore, the study made it apparent that offering web-based vaccine information embedded with social media applications to pregnant women was instrumental in lowering vaccine hesitancy.
Fit, Feasibility and Appropriateness
The application of the web-based vaccine information with social media application is fundamental in reducing vaccine
hesitancy. The intervention is fit since it leverages the power of the internet with specific bias towards social media. Moreover, the utilization of the intervention in practice setting is feasible since the necessary budget is small. Also, the culture of using technology to address some clinical issues has permeated the setting thus making it culturally feasible as well (Lamontagne, Perreault, & Gagnon, 2014). The appropriateness of the intervention is dependent upon the fact that social media has been utilized to influence vaccine hesitancy. Hence, using the same platform to counter peddlers of disinformation may produce excellent results.

Plan-Do-Study-Act
The use of the Plan-Do-Study- Act will be dependent on the organizational culture and its readiness for evidence-based practice. It has been known that health care facilities are moving towards technology-based care. Thus, the leadership of the organization will need to create a vibrant technological culture with specific bias towards adoption of social media interventions. Training staff on the usage of social media to influence parental perceptions regarding vaccination will prove paramount to the realization of the reduction of vaccination hesitancy. After the trainings, the staff will then be deployed to counter the false information being peddled by anti-vaccination groups in social media by addressing often misunderstood issues about vaccines.
Resources
Successful implementation of the stratagem into practice will depend on the availability of a sufficient budget. This budget will among other things produce competent social media strategists among the staff as well as create an effective technological system to deliver the messaging. Moreover, a specific social media office will be required in order to have accountability and control over the usage of social media to educate the masses on vaccination.
Criteria to Determine Success of my Project
One of the surest ways to determining the success of my project will be to conduct a survey regarding positive responses from social media followers. Conducting interactive sessions with them and asking them whether they would consider vaccination will indicate whether the project was successful or otherwise.
Future Study
In future, studies should concentrate on determining the effectiveness of information concerning vaccination hesitancy. The determination of the impact of having knowledge as regards the reduction of rates of vaccine hesitancy will play a crucial role in addressing the matter.
Using the following steps found within the translation phase of the Practice Evidence Translation (PET) model developed by Johns Hopkins, select a research result reported in a journal article that supports your PICOT/PICOT question qualitative PICO approach for the present analysis is: why are parents or caregivers opposed to recommended vaccinations for children? . Please respond to the following steps. Please note that wording of the steps may have been modified slightly from the PET so that they help with this posting. Include the permalink at the end of your posting.
Using references, identity the research result that you could use in your practice setting.
Determine fit, feasibility, and appropriateness of the result for your practice setting.
Using Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA), outline an action plan.
Identify the resources (physical, personal, technology) needed to implement your action plan.
Determine the criteria that you would use to determine whether the implementation of your project was success
Lopes Write Policy
For assignments that need to be submitted to Lopes Write, please be sure you have received your report and Similarity Index (SI) percentage BEFORE you do a “final submit” to me.
Once you have received your report, please review it. This report will show you grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors that can easily be fixed. Take the extra few minutes to review instead of getting counted off for these mistakes.
Review your similarities. Did you forget to cite something? Did you not paraphrase well enough? Is your paper made up of someone else’s thoughts more than your own?
Visit the Writing Center in the Student Success Center, under the Resources tab in LoudCloud for tips on improving your paper and SI score.

I strongly encourage that you do not wait until the very last minute to complete your assignments. Your assignments in weeks 4 and 5 require early planning as you would need to present a teaching plan and interview a community health provider. I advise you look at the requirements for these assignments at the beginning of the course and plan accordingly. I have posted the YouTube link that explains all the class assignments in detail. It is required that you watch this 32-minute video as the assignments from week 3 through 5 require that you follow the instructions to the letter to succeed. Failure to complete these assignments according to instructions might lead to a zero. After watching the video, please schedule a one-on-one with me to discuss your topic for your project by the second week of class. Use this link to schedule a 15-minute session. Please, call me at the time of your appointment on my number. Please note that I will NOT call you.

Note that working fulltime or overtime is no excuse for late assignments. There is a 5%-point deduction for every day your assignment is late. This only applies to approved extensions. Late assignments will not be accepted.

Plagiarism is highly prohibited. Please ensure you are citing your sources correctly using APA 7th edition. All assignments including discussion posts should be formatted in APA with the appropriate spacing, font, margin, and indents. Any papers not well formatted would be returned back to you, hence, I advise you review APA formatting style. I have attached a sample paper in APA format and will also post sample discussion responses in subsequent announcements.
Your initial discussion post should be a minimum of 200 words and response posts should be a minimum of 150 words. Be advised that I grade based on quality and not necessarily the number of words you post. A minimum of TWO references should be used for your initial post. For your response post, you do not need references as personal experiences would count as response posts. If you however cite anything from the literature for your response post, it is required that you cite your reference. You should include a minimum of THREE references for papers in this course. Please note that references should be no more than 5 years old except recommended as a resource for the class. Furthermore, for each discussion board question, you need ONE initial substantive response and TWO substantive responses to either your classmates or your instructor for a total of THREE responses. There are TWO discussion questions each week, hence, you need a total minimum of SIX discussion posts for each week. I usually post a discussion question each week. You could also respond to these as it would count towards your required SIX discussion posts for the week.
I understand this is a lot of information to cover in 5 weeks, however, the Bible says in Philippians 4:13 that we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. Even in times like this, we are encouraged by God’s word that we have that ability in us to succeed with His strength. I pray that each and every one of you receives strength for this course and life generally as we navigate through this pandemic that is shaking our world today. Relax and enjoy the course!
