Title: Assignment Evidence-Based Practice Proposal-Section C: Solution Description
Proposed Solution
In the current project, the weight-loss treatment strategy known as the MOVE! Will be adopted to encourage weight-loss among veterans of war who suffer from PTSD. According to Atkins (2017), the application of the MOVE! initiative is consistent with the current evidence-based practices to combat the behavior. The MOVE is a comprehensive behavior management program that that is premised on counseling and its principal objectives include improving physical activity as well as promoting healthy eating in addition to the usage of weight loos medications (Hoerster et al., 2014). Further, the MOVE encourages the application of bariatric surgery to manage weight issues amongst the veterans. In a study that encompassed veterans with weight loss and psychiatric problems, Golbderg et al. (2015) also identified that the MOVE is an effective program for veterans with the issue of obesity. Thus, the application of the MOVE weight management program will lead to reduced instances of obesity among the veterans within six months of its application.
Barriers
During the application of the intervention, several barriers will need analysis and elimination before the program proceeds. Normally, the war veterans have their own health care system wherein they get medical attention. Thus, during this project, it would be
necessary to examine if the bureaucratic process can allow the project to be conducted outside the Veteran Affairs System of health care. Secondly, the project will require substantial funding resources to be completely executed (Janney et al., 2017). As such, the people at the author’s current setting will need to get sponsorship assistance for the project to be comprehensive and impactful. However, the project will proceed under the assumption that the MOVE initiative will find applicability in the wider war veteran population in order to improve obesity amongst former soldiers with PTSD.

Organization Culture
In the author’s current setting, the issue of improving the quality of care, hence patient satisfaction takes precedence. One of the ways in which this culture is accomplished is through the provision of helpful resources and interventions. Thus, by supporting the application of the MOVE initiative, the current project is consistent with the prevalent organizational and community culture.
Expected Outcomes
The purpose of the project is to reduce obesity among war veterans with PTSD symptoms and signs. According to literature on the matter, weight gain is directly correlated to the existence of PTSD signs and symptoms (Hoerster et al., 2014). As such, the project expects to manage such symptomatology within six months of its application. In other words, the project population will be anticipated to demonstrate reduced signs and symptoms of PTSD by the end of the assigned project timeline.
Methods to Achieve Outcome
The MOVE initiative suggest several strategies that may be used to combat weight among the war veterans with PTSD hence reduce PTSD signs and symptoms. Whereas the other methodologies are equally effective, the present project will focus on behavioral changes premised on counselling. Thus, the study participants will be placed on counselling programs that will target their eating and exercise behaviors. Specific training and diet regimens will be formulated for the participants who will be encouraged to follow it for six months of the project (Klingaman et al., 2016). However, certain barriers such as the financial implications of the project will be considered. For those who may find it difficult to afford, the setting will, through its partners, offer help. Thus, the assumption that all the participants may afford the programs will need to be addressed during the project.
Outcome Impact
The execution of this project will have several anticipated outcomes. One of the most significant outcomes would be the improvement of the quality of care. Whereas the veteran population is a unique population that needs care, the project will extend to other demographics in the United States that suffer from overweight-induced PTSD. Through this application, the quality of care as relates to weight management and PTSD will significantly improve in the United States.

Plagiarism is highly prohibited. Please ensure you are citing your sources correctly using APA 7th edition. All assignments including discussion posts should be formatted in APA with the appropriate spacing, font, margin, and indents. Any papers not well formatted would be returned back to you, hence, I advise you review APA formatting style. I have attached a sample paper in APA format and will also post sample discussion responses in subsequent announcements.
Your initial discussion post should be a minimum of 200 words and response posts should be a minimum of 150 words. Be advised that I grade based on quality and not necessarily the number of words you post. A minimum of TWO references should be used for your initial post. For your response post, you do not need references as personal experiences would count as response posts. If you however cite anything from the literature for your response post, it is required that you cite your reference. You should include a minimum of THREE references for papers in this course. Please note that references should be no more than 5 years old except recommended as a resource for the class. Furthermore, for each discussion board question, you need ONE initial substantive response and TWO substantive responses to either your classmates or your instructor for a total of THREE responses. There are TWO discussion questions each week, hence, you need a total minimum of SIX discussion posts for each week. I usually post a discussion question each week. You could also respond to these as it would count towards your required SIX discussion posts for the week.
I understand this is a lot of information to cover in 5 weeks, however, the Bible says in Philippians 4:13 that we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. Even in times like this, we are encouraged by God’s word that we have that ability in us to succeed with His strength. I pray that each and every one of you receives strength for this course and life generally as we navigate through this pandemic that is shaking our world today. Relax and enjoy the course!
