The proposed evidence-based intervention will be undertaken in our hospital. It will be done in the mental health department where the target population for the intervention will be obtained. The potential subjects will be African-American patients utilizing mental health services in the unit. The patients will be suffering from major depressive disorder and are on antidepressant treatment. There will be a need to obtain consent from the subjects. As a result, they will be provided with information related to the proposed intervention. Information on the potential benefits as well as risks of the intervention will be provided for the subjects to make informed decisions. The method of selecting the subjects will be based on convenient sampling. The subjects will be assigned conveniently to either treatment or control group. The treatment group will receive antidepressants plus psychotherapy while control group will receive antidepressants only. The consent form that will be administered to the subjects will be attached to the final paper at the appendix section.
The maximum time for the proposed evidence-based intervention is 12 months. Resources Needed
The success of the proposed evidence-based intervention will depend on the availability of the needed resources. One of the resources is adequate number of staffs. There should be adequate staffing to ensure that quality data is collected from the subjects. There is also the need for adequate time. Time is needed to administer the intervention, follow-up, and determine the accuracy of the obtained data. Computers and mobile phones are also needed in the project. The computers will be used for data storage and analysis. Mobile phones will be needed for undertaking follow-up of the patients. There will also be a change in the clinical processes. The nurses and other healthcare providers will have to ensure that the subjects are provided with the right treatment according to their assigned group. The following is a resource list for the intervention.
The data for this proposed evidence-based intervention will be collected using structured questionnaires. The questionnaires will contain both open and closed-ended questions. Questionnaires are appropriate for this intervention because they will allow the

The proposed evidence-based intervention is a change in itself. It will require adoption from not only the subjects but also the healthcare providers too. It is therefore important that interventions that aim at raising the level of awareness of the adopters are embraced (Harvey & Kitson, 2015). This will include the provision of training to the healthcare providers on the intervention (McCormack & McCance, 2016). The healthcare providers will be trained on the administration of the intervention and the collection of the needed data. Strategies to Deal with Challenges, Barriers, and Facilitators

The other intervention will be the provision of regular, up-to-date feedback to the involved stakeholders. Small wins will also be rewarded. The staffs will be rewarded for their cooperation throughout the period of intervention to motivate them to dedicate themselves in ensuring the success of the process. Lastly, training will be provided depending on the concerns raised by the staffs to ensure that incidences of resistance to change are eliminated.
