In a flashback about the course module, three of the most interesting concepts learned includes self-reflection, leadership skills in nursing, and the use of evidence-based practice to guide care to patients. Through self-reflection, I have gained incredible skills in observation as well as understanding areas of strengths and weakness to guide decisions on exceptional practice in the future (DeNisco, 2019). As for leadership aspects, I have learned how to leverage management strategies between patients and staff by using an effective leadership style during care. Besides, I have acquired skills in collaborative strategies as well as use of effective communication to minimize errors in care. The use of evidence-based practice has enabled me gain knowledge on use of guided practice from research to provide accurate care to patients.
Each of the three concepts learned will guide my future practice in different ways. Self-reflection will enable me to develop creative and critical thinking skills to address challenging cases of patients encountered during practice (DeNisco, 2019). Evidence-based practice, on the other hand, will enable me utilize the latest guidelines on patient care that guarantees optimal success for health improvement. Nonetheless, the use of an effective leadership style will enhance my interaction with staff and patients (Green, 2019). It will also guide my decision to be a role model in adopting changes that optimize patient care in a given facility.
As part of my success in the master’s program, I will plan my studies accordingly to ensure that I align my studies with the schedules of the learning program. I will embrace a collaborative and team approach to learning so that I interact effectively with the members of the faculty (Green, 2019). Moreover, I will build positive networks with the team so that I harness opportunities that may pave way for better prospects in my nursing career.
